Question 1

Which water filtration system is right for me?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your water source and what you want to improve. Municipal water may need carbon or under-sink filtration, while borehole, rainwater and JoJo-tank water may require sediment filtration, UV sterilisation or reverse osmosis. We recommend assessing your water first so you choose the correct system.

Question 2

Is my borehole or rainwater safe to drink?

Accepted Answer

Not automatically. Water can look clean while still containing bacteria, nitrates, metals or other contaminants. Have it tested by an accredited laboratory before drinking it, then choose filtration based on the results.

Question 3

Do I need a water test?

Accepted Answer

A water test is strongly recommended for borehole, rainwater, well, JoJo-tank or mixed water. It is also useful if your water has a bad taste, smell, colour, scale or sediment. The results help prevent you from buying the wrong filtration system.

Question 4

How often must I replace the filters?

Accepted Answer

Some filters last around six months, while others can last up to eight months. Replacement time depends on your water quality and daily usage. Reduced water flow or returning taste and odour may indicate earlier replacement. RO membranes and UV components also require scheduled maintenance.

Question 5

Can I install the system myself?

Accepted Answer

Some under-sink systems can be installed as a DIY project if you have basic plumbing skills. Whole-house systems, UV sterilisation units, booster pumps and borehole systems should be installed by a qualified plumber. Ask us about installation options in your area.
